I have not had this jacket out in the rain yet, as I live in Florida and it's too hot to put a jacket on right now. I'm going to Maine in a few months and I'll get to try it out then. It is a well made jacket that has lots of well thought out parts. The pockets are numerous and handy, even if you are wearing a fly fishing vest. You can actually get to the large rear pocket without taking off the jacket. The inside water tight pocket for your cell phone or MP3 player is a nice touch. I'm not a fan of the single button/strap hood holder, it seems to keep the hood bunched up around your ears a bit. The hood does lay pretty flat when you don't have it on, so I'll probably do that as apposed to snapping it under the large strap. Overall I would give it a five stars, but I have not tried it in the rain yet.The Maine trip was a week of on and off rain and fly fishing the Grand Lake Stream area. The jacket worked as advertised and held up flawlessly. Chest deep water was no problem and rain was not even an issue. Three days on an ATV also was no prolbem. Kept me warm and dry. The mud washed off with no effect to the jacket, Lots of pockeys came in handy for all kinds of food, water, GPS, camera and tools.First review the address sizing. I'd ordered a medium size to allow layering during colder temps, but returned for a small. Return was quick and easy. I'm 5'9", 180lbs, 40" chest. The small size allows enough room for layering and the sleeve length is spot on.Pockets are roomy with ease of access.Zipper tabs sturdy and work well with gloves.High collar closes around the neck / chin area keeping heat in and the wind / rain out.The neoprene cuffs work well and kept water from entering the sleeves.I've two weeks of wear in rain / wind / snow / sub-freezing temps and no complaints so far. Some far I'm enjoying this jacket. I've only used it twice to fish in the rain and it has kept me dry and warm both times. The hood worked great with a ball cap. Pockets are roomy for fly boxes and other needed gear and there are loops on outside of jacket to clip forceps and clippers to be close at hand.I wish it fit a little better, but I knew it would not fit due to it being a man's jacket instead of a woman's. Mainly the longer arm length is the only draw back in the jacket. The weather is still chilly so I had plenty room for fleece pullover and another light jacket to wear under the wading jacket. Maybe really runny for warmer weather, but as long as it keeps me dry I'll be happy. If your looking for a wading jacket this one should fit the bill.I purchased this jacket for a steal. This jacket is water proof, has a spot to fit an iPhone 6 that is waterproof, and has many other pockets that are perfect for any fishermen or outdoorsmen. I bought this as a gift but had to purchase one for myself too. They do run true to size but they are a little big so that you are able to wear a sweater or heavy clothing underneath if need-be. I am a 125 pound 5' 5" female and the same was a little large but I am still keeping it.this coat is the best rainwear I have ever owned . I bought my son this jacket and the bibs to go with it years ago, he absolutely loves the quality. He never goes hunting or fishing without the set. Here in the Northwest it rains quite a bit, this is amazing rain gear for this part of the country. I don't think you could possibly find anything that works better than Wright & McGill Big Horn jacket and bibs!!!!!!Well Made lots of storage pockets, hand warmer pockets are a bonus nice and warm on cold hands. I am 6'4" tall and weight 270lbs and the XXL fits well with enough room for waders and winter clothing without restricting movement the neoprene cuff bands are great. This jacket will be getting plenty of use here in New Zealand's North Island.bought this coat in 2007, and just wore it out, nice pockets nice rain protectionliked the old coat pockets better than the new but i'll wear it out and then i can rate it.the pants are nice but need reinforcement in the crotch, getting in and out of the boat, taking them on and off the first pair split really quick, nice like the coat for weather but weak in the life span.I live on the Gulf of Mexico and like to wade fish in the winter. This jacket really does a great job keeping you dry and warm but not to warm. Great pockets to slip a tackle box or camera. I usually get it pretty wet - salt water - I just take it home and rinse it well with a garden hose and hang it to dry. I wash the inside, if necessary. I think this was a really good buy!!!!!Great quality jacket.
